Autodesk Webinar - Reference to 3D Render in Maya: A hard surface modeller's journey.

 In this webinar, Tom Revill will take you on a journey from reference image to the final render. Showing you what Maya and Mudbox can do with some insight into workflows, methods and techniques. Tom's talk will give you key tips, tricks and a better understanding of the new tools in Maya.

This webinar will focus on:

  • Workflow - Overview about what I intend to do/methods
  • Getting started - Reference/planning/blocking/low resolution work in Maya.
  • Pushing the limits - Creating a high resolution model.
  • Pulling out more of the details - Adding more model details in Mudbox.
  • Technical Painting - Preparing the UVs and texturing in Maya and texturing in Mudbox.
  • Polishing and Refining - Pulling the project together.

About Tom Revill

Tom Revill is an experienced VFX/3D Artist. Tom has a broad range of experience in a number of fields from Lighting to 3D Modelling.

His industry experience has been at Weta Digital, Dr D Studios and Circle 5 Studios with a number of interesting freelance gigs here and there.

His speciality is working on hard surface end to end asset creation for games. He loves working with 3D Environments and enjoys experimenting in Python.

Tom is an Australian who studied Digital Media Design at the University of Victoria in Wellington New Zealand.
